Happy Tails

Welcome to our Happy Tails page! Below you can read about some of our recently placed dogs and their new forever home.

If you adopted a NEARR dog, please send all updates along with any photos of your dog to us at PostAdoption@NEARR.com. (It's usually best for posting and privacy purposes that the photos don't include human family members.) We always like to hear how our NEARR dogs are doing and are happy to share their "Happy Tails" here for all their friends and fans to see!

Also, no matter how long you've had your NEARR dog, remember that the Post Adoption Team is available to answer any of your questions. Just write to us at PostAdoption@NEARR.com.

Onyx-8 Month Update

By: volunteer @ 10:30 pm

Onyx is enjoying his first holiday season with our family. He does still like to jump on people and tries to eat anything people leave on the counters, but we are working on that.

He was a ram for Halloween (his brother was a squirrel). He has been joining us on hikes through the woods in NH and this weekend he enjoyed playing in the snow.

Casey-4 Year Update

By: volunteer @ 10:25 pm

We recently celebrated Casey’s 6th birthday, and the fourth anniversary of his adoption. Casey is doing great! We moved to central New York over the summer, and I’m sure he misses his buddies in MA, but he has made new friends and had some new adventures in NY. He has seen some cows, horses, and deer, which is a new experience for him. We were very sorry to miss the picnic this year, but we hope to be back for next year. He continues to be happy and healthy, and always excited to get outside and play some fetch. Happy holidays to everyone at NEARR!

Kia - 1 Week Update

By: volunteer @ 10:23 pm

Kia is doing well after one week. We had our first vet Appointment on Friday and she got all her vaccines, blood-work and heart work test done. We are signed up to take obedience classes at the MSPCA campus in Jamaica Plain starting Tuesday Jan 18th.

Kia has adjusted perfectly to her new home. She’s sleeping well, eating well. She has never had an accident or chewed anything. She’s a sweet dog. She loves going for walks and I take her for a long walk at the start of the day. I haven’t taken her off the leash but she gets along with the other dogs she crosses paths with at the park. She loves being in the car and she just loves people.

Her separation stress seems a little better. She was home alone for 2 hours yesterday for the first time in over 5 days. She whimpered a little but relaxed enough to lay by the door.

I purchased the DAP from Amazon, it should be in by Thursday so I’m looking forward to using it.
