Kipper is a 2 1/2 year old Black Lab/Border Collie, about 40 lbs., neutered, up to date on his shots and housebroken. Kipper was given up from his first home because no one took the time to help him deal with his energy – apparently he was left alone a lot and had some bad behavior due to undiagnosed Lyme disease (since treated). He’s been with us as a foster for over two months and we are all getting way too attached. We want to find him a forever home so we can continue to do more fostering!
Kipper has settled into being an awesome dog. Absolutely no accidents in the house - he’s quite vocal when he needs to go outside (he’s been a big help to our not-so-vocal older yellow lab who hates to “bother” us to let him out!). He’ll settle down once he’s had his exercise but he does need to run; he has a lot of energy so he'd love a fenced yard or someone to take him on lots of walks. We’ve let him loose to run and he comes back with no problem (not always when called, however – still working on that one!). He is very smart and learned our routines very quickly. He's affectionate (he rubs your legs like a cat and cuddles up in bed), active (he'll play fetch forever) and loyal (he follows me everywhere). He'd probably do better with adults and older kids, he gets a little too excited around little ones. He protects his home so he barks at dogs that walk by and goes nuts if they come in the yard. A few times he’s been caught off-leash with other dogs he has been a little aggressive but really just for show. He has adapted well to living with an 11-year old lab I think he’d learn to get along with anyone.
If you are interested in meeting Kipper or getting more information call Chris at 508-746-4080 or email chrisleebailey@gmail.com.
Baxter is a 3 year old, male, chocolate lab mix. We adopted him from the Sterling Shelter in Sterling, MA in May 2008 when he was approximately 3 months old. The Shelter told us he was pulled from a group of stray dogs in Tennessee and brought up to the Shelter when he was a few weeks old.
We need to find a new home for Baxter for 1 reason only – he gets loose from our yard quite frequently and spends a few hours running through the neighborhood, swimming in the brook, sniffing other dogs, chasing rabbits & squirrels, and he does not come when he’s called. He is a hunter and thoroughly enjoys the game of running through the neighborhood and chasing small animals. He always comes back home to our house eventually, but unfortunately we have several neighbors who understandably do not tolerate this. That is the only reason why need to find him a new home.
We are a family of 2 working parents and 2 young children (9 year old girl, and 8 year old boy). Baxter has loved our children and they have loved him. I routinely find them all sharing the couch together watching TV and cuddling. Baxter is incredibly playful and full of energy but not over the top. He spends a majority of the day with our older 11.5 year old female chocolate lab sleeping in the house and is not bursting with energy when we come home from work. He enjoys hiking (not so much swimming) and used to love going for long runs with me (before I had to retire my running shoes). He is a very well behaved dog in the house, doesn’t chew on anything, doesn’t mess in the house, and I love him greatly. He loves going for car rides and loves being with his family. He’s very protective of his home and his family and is always watching over us.
Baxter’s other bad habit is that he does not typically like other dogs, or cats for that matter. He loves our older dog and my sister’s 1 year old female lab and a select few other female dogs, but he has been aggressive with dogs he does not know. He demands to be the alpha dog and upon meeting new male dogs or strong female dogs, will strive to instantly make that known. He also has this strange anxiety over helium balloons and will grab them by the string and run through the house with them. And then bark at them when they float to the ceiling, or god forbid, fall to the floor. He makes us laugh.
If you know anyone who would want to adopt him, please contact me via the information below. Baxter needs a loving family that has the time to train him to listen when he’s called yet gives him the freedom to run, hopefully in a fenced in yard.

Milla or “Milla bean”:
Milla is a beautiful, energetic black Labrador mix. She is 8 years old, weighs 50 lbs, is up to date on her shots, she is a spayed female, and is heartworm negative. Milla is looking to be adopted by a caring, involved family who will love to spend time playing with her as well as responsibly take care of her. Milla is looking to be adopted because our baby boy has tested positive to having allergies and health issues with Milla. We have had Milla since she was a puppy. She is a great dog for a family with kids and gets along great with people. She is also very good socially with other dogs and in parks with dog runs since she grew up in Park Slope Brooklyn’s Prospect Park; one of the largest dog communities in the United States, prior to moving to Natick, MA.
Please consider making a Milla an addition to your family. Any interested families may contact Steve at 313.205.7229 – Thank you.

Zeke & Joey are super sweet 10 year old BONDED buddies. They have been raised together and have been together since they were 8 weeks old. They need to be rehomed TOGETHER. Please do not email to tell me you will take the Golden or tell me which rescues to contact. These boys are in a home right now and are safe however need to be rehomed as the current owner keeps them downstairs away from her grandson who has allergies. They are in a finished basement and get lonely. They are SUPER SWEET and would like a nice home to go to where they can lay at your feet and go for a walk or two. The owner is sad to give them up however loves them and wants them to be happy and not just kept in a basement all day.
They are both 10 years old. GREAT with kids, cats, etc. Please email me directly if you would like more info or to meet these sweethearts.

Duke is a beautiful male 3 year old black lab with wonderful family interaction, great energy, fully vetted, fixed, a cat lover, and all around goofy lab personality. Living with a family with three children today (15, 13, 9) Duke is the consummate family dog – loves to play catch, will do anything for treats, and can be protective with dogs and people he does not know. Once he is introduced to new things, he is a tail wagging happy go lucky dog and a puppy at heart. While he gets nervous around new people and dogs – he never crosses the line. Duke loves food however is great at sharing with his two cats and never growls. He never has chewed on anything that is not his toy, and is truly affectionate – often falling asleep at your feet. He loves taking walks, swimming, running around the yard, or playing any game.
He is a very intelligent dog and shows that food and praise are the path to learning new obedience skills.
Duke currently lives in a neighborhood with over 30 children, and this is making him progressively nervous. He needs a loving family off the beaten path and he will reward you by being your lifelong companion and loving member of your family. While we are deeply saddened by having to let him goto a new family, we know that the perfect loving setting awaits.

Moxie is a great companion and loves to go for long walks or hikes. She is a Blond Lab/Terrier mix.
She is a country dog and gets nervous with lots of coming and going but she is crate trained to help with transitions and to have a safe place for here to go.
Moxie loves to go for rides or lay in the sun while you work in the yard. She loves to run hard but gets bored with fetch. She is an energetic middle-aged dog who needs an owner who can work with her, love her and make her feel safe. Moxie is happiest doing whatever you are.
Small children make her nervous and - unfortunately - her current home is next door to a kindergarten. She needs a home where she is not going to be put in a situation where she might get in trouble.
She is good with other dogs about half the time and needs to be introduced carefully but loves a good romp with her dog friends. She will run and play all day if you let her.
Moxie would be great with someone who can have her around more often than not and is not running in and out all the time. Anybody interested in adopting or fostering Moxie can please email Christine directly at onebigassdog@gmail.com.

There are always many, many purebred Labs, Goldens, and other retrievers
as well as retriever mixes available at the CACC (Centers for Animal
Control and Care) in NY. These shelters hold hundreds of dogs at any given
time. Often, these dogs are euthanized within days of their arrival.
Unfortunately, NEARR does not always have room for these dogs and we are
lacking volunteers in this area. These wonderful dogs need your help! For
more information, including a list of dogs available, visit: http://www.nycacc.org/

This is Gypsy. She is an eight-year-old spayed female, she weighs 66 lbs, and has had one home. Gypsy loves people and children.
She is very gentle and loves attention. She has had some obedience training and listens very well. She is not destructive and she rarely
barks (only when people come to the house.) Gypsy does have a blood pressure problem that she takes inexpensive medicine for. She would
love a house with fenced yard, as she loves to run and play. If you are interested in learning more about Gypsy or would like to meet her,
please contact Catherine by email at cattmcmasters@yahoo.com.

Diego was found as a stray in East Montpelier, VT. Once we had him in our care we discovered that Diego is housebroken, knows basic obedience commands, and seems to get along well with other dogs and cats. He is a very friendly boy who truly enjoys being in the company of people, resting his head on your lap and leaning his full Labrador weight against your legs. He has a playful nature and will eagerly engage you in a game of tug or amuse himself with his squeaky toys on his bed. He is easily motivated by food and praise and shows great potential for further positive reinforcement training. Diego is uncomfortable with rough handling, so he will do best in an adult home. He has a calm energy level-- he loves to plod around the yard and go for walks and then relax quietly indoors. Can you offer this sweet guy the stable home that he has been longing for?
